A joyous greeting to one and all! My name is Debbie Nez-Manuel. I am an enrolled member of the great Navajo Nation and I am running to be your next president. My hometown chapter is Klagetoh, Arizona.

My educational background includes a Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Social Work from Northern Arizona. I am also proud to be a Ganado Hornet alumnus, where I graduated as valedictorian.

Over the years, I have served in various community advocacy roles, focusing on youth development, K-12 education, and more. These experiences have led me to hold management positions in tribal and community leadership roles in government offices for over two decades.

In 2015, I co-founded Morning Star Leaders, a statewide non-profit organization that serves indigenous youth in leadership development. Currently, I serve as a senior advisor to the organization.

In 2019, I played a crucial role in establishing the first Study Committee for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls by the State of Arizona Legislature. I served as a committee co-chair alongside over 22 task force members.

In 2020, I made history as the first Navajo woman to serve as a committee member of the Democratic National Committee for the State of Arizona. In this role I had the distinct honor to represent indigenous communities within the Democratic Party throughout the state.

In 2021, I collaborated with the Arizona Community Foundation’s executive team to support economic and civic development in Native American communities across the state. 

Today, I remain dedicated to representing my communities in national leadership roles. Most recently, I had the privilege of serving as a cabinet member for the Navajo Nation. On a grassroots level, I continue to be committed to activism, leading efforts in the political arena and promoting voter education and civic engagement.

This campaign requires significant effort, energy, and community support. I am committed to working diligently to earn your trust in my ability to unite people and work honorably, honestly, and earnestly to serve in the best interests of the Navajo people.
